Boil Water Notice – Wicklow

Boil Water Notice – Wicklow

On October 2nd 2023, Irish Water issued a boil water notice for parts of Co Wicklow. This notice applies to all water consumers in the Knockanarrigan Davidstown Supply Zone.

Following the detection of elevated levels of E.coli, Enterococci and coliforms in drinking water samples taken from the Davidstown, Knockanarrigan water supply, Uisce Éireann and Wicklow County Council are issuing a precautionary Boil Water Notice with immediate effect to protect the health of consumers.

If you are worried about the safety of your water supply, one of the safest solutions is to boil the water before drinking it. To protect your family’s health and ensure safe drinking water after the lifting of a boil water notice, we recommend installing a water filtration system. For home owners with their own private water well, a Government grant is available to assist with protecting and maintaining private household water wells or installing water filtration, water purification or disinfection systems.
